Managing Multiple Classes
Best practices for managing multiple classrooms efficiently without getting overwhelmed.
Using the Dashboard
Bright Quest's dashboard shows all your classrooms at a glance. Use the classroom selector to switch between classrooms and quickly view assignments and student progress.
Content Reusability
Create quizzes and challenges once, then assign them to multiple classes. You can customize assignments for each class if needed, but reusing content saves time.
Batch Assignments
Assign content to multiple classes at once. Set common deadlines for similar grade levels, then adjust deadlines individually for specific classes as needed.
Organizational Strategies
Name classrooms clearly (e.g., "Period 2 Biology," "Period 4 Biology" or "Grade 9 Math," "Grade 10 Math"). Use consistent naming conventions to reduce confusion.
Monitoring Multiple Classes
Check analytics and reports for all classes regularly. Set a schedule—perhaps check Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for quick progress updates.
Differentiation Across Classes
If you teach the same subject to different grade levels, adjust difficulty and content accordingly. Advanced classes might get more challenging content while introductory classes focus on foundations.
Time Management Tips
- Stagger assignment deadlines across classes to avoid all-at-once grading
- Use calendar view to plan assignments for the entire term
- Delegate peer review or self-grading to reduce teacher workload
- Automate grading where possible (quizzes with auto-grading)
Communication
Maintain clear communication with each class separately. Use class announcements to keep students informed about assignments and updates specific to their class.
